What do you think about the Super Bowl?
Please discuss your thoughts on the American cultural event - The Super Bowl. Explain whether you'll watch it this upcoming Sunday and what you think of America's obsession with it.
Actually I don’t know many things about Super Bowl, but as far as I saw from the Billboards and commercials, it is the championship game of American national football league. This Sunday will be played between “New York Giants” and “New England patriots”. Also the day on which the super bowl will be played, is considered American national holiday, called Super Bowl Sunday. It is the second largest day for U.S food consumption after thanksgiving. When we come down to me, I am not really interested in the football games. However, I have been in a football stadium last semester for homecoming game of Grizzly bears in Missoula Montana. I couldn’t stand the game and I left the stadium after 15 minutes. All I understood, more than 10 gigantic guys were trying to push each other down in order to get point. That seemed like silly to me. In addition to these, if you ask me the reason of American’s obsession, I just can say: They may love violence.
The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), the highest level of professional American football in the United States, culminating a season that begins in the late summer of the previous calendar year. This game is held at a pre-selected site, usually a city that hosts an NFL team. The Super Bowl uses Roman numerals to identify each game, rather than the year in which it is held, with Super Bowl I being the 1966 season championship game. The defending champions the Green Bay Packers will not be returning for the upcoming game, Super Bowl XLVI, which will be played on February 5, 2012, between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.
The day on which the Super Bowl is played is now considered a American national holiday, called "Super Bowl Sunday". Super Bowl is also among the most watched sporting events in the world, mostly due to North American audiences, and is second to association football's UEFA Champions League final as the most watched annual sporting event worldwide. Watching and discussing the broadcast's commercials has become a significant aspect of the event. After looking up the information of Super Bowl, I found that the game is so important for Americans. I live in a dormitory now, so I don't have a TV to watch it in room, but, I think I may go to the lobby of dor. and watch it. This game is too important to miss it.
At last semester, I remember many people were excited football game at Grizzly Stadium. I thought I try to watch football game at this year. I don't know about football game well. But, I surprised football game is essential to American's life. Furthermore, I surprised that one 30 seconds-commercial command $4 million. Now, I know about the history and characteristics of Super Bowl. I expect to watch exciting Super Bowl at Sunday.
I didn't know anything about the Super Bowl before this class. I could know many information about this event at this time. The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of National Football League, the highest level of professional American football in U.S.A. The day is now considered a American national holiday, called "SuperBowl Sunday". It is the second largest day for food consumption, after Thanksgiving Day. In addition, many people watches super bowl on TV, an average of 100,000,000 people every year. The highest-rated game according to Super Bowl XVI in 1982, which was watched in 49.1% of households, or 40,020,000 households at that time. In Japan, there are some famous sports: soccer, baseball, volley ball etc. I think most excited thing is World Cup of soccer game and World Baseball Classic. We tend to more support the representation of Japan, and there are a lot of economical effect . But it is not a holiday and less obsession than Super Bowl. So I am very interested in the Super Bowl.
I think super bowl is the most important event in the U.S and more than 1000000 watch the game ,and i think it nice to watch the game but most of the people whom seeing the game, dont know what the hardest thing about the game is which is to be in the 2nd place its harder than losing the first game or something like that. and there is things like injuries and pains in each heart so is not only a game its the superbowl its life or death its the game of the year
