  3. 1. Valentine's Day is on February the 14th and is celebrated around the world. People send Valentine's card or some gifts. It is traditional day for lovers to express their love to each other.

    2. The custom that only women give chocolates to men. Many women feel obliged to give chocolates to all male co-wokers, except when the the day falls o a Sunday. This is known as giri choko, from giri(obligation) and choko(chocolate). This contrasts with honmei-choko(favorite chocolate), chocolate given to a loved one. Friends, especially girls, may exchange chocolate referred to as tomo-choco; from tomo meaning "friend". And on March 14th is a "reply day", where men are return some gift to those who gave them chocolates on Valentine's Day, calling it "White Day".

    3. Nothing much!

  5. Valentine's day is a Christian holiday observed on February 14 honoring one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentines. It is celebrated in countries around the world; however, people still work in this day, and go to school. This holiday is associated with romantic love, so couples give each other gifts, mostly the gifts are red colors with hearts, as a reminder of love and romantic. Nevertheless, in my country, most people don't celebrate this holiday, because it is not a religious or cultural thing to celebrate. Although, you might see some people celebrate it -few people- and they usually don't show this celebration. And for me, this day is like any other day. I still do my things as a normal day, and depends on my luck.

  7. Valentine's Day is the festival for commemorating St. Valentine. St Valentine was persecuted as a Christian and interrogated by Roman Emperor Claudius II in person. Claudius was impressed by Valentine and had a discussion with him, attempting to get him to convert to Roman paganism in order to save his life. Valentine refused and tried to convert Claudius to Christianity instead. Because of this, he was executed. Before his execution, he is reported to have performed a miracle by healing the blind daughter of his jailer.

In Taiwan, we celebrate this festival by sending chocolates and gifts to our lovers.

I said Happy Valentin's Day to my friends yesterday. Because of the time difference, people in Taiwan had the Valentine's Day yesterday.
