  1. April fool is on April 1, and one the customs that people can tell a total lie. "April Fool " in English indicates person who is fooled.
    According to internet search "wilster.com",
"it is sometimes called All Fool's Day, is not totally clear. It is not like Halloween, where despite an interesting history, most people just put on Halloween costumes, get candy, and leave it at that. There really wasn't a "first April Fool's Day" that can be pinpointed on the calendar. Some believe it sort of evolved simultaneously in several cultures at the same time, from celebrations involving the first day of spring.
The closest point in time that can be identified as the beginning of this tradition was in 1582, in France. Prior to that year, the new year was celebrated for eight days, beginning on March 25. With the reform of the calendar under Charles IX, the Gregorian Calendar was introduced, and New Year's Day was moved to January 1."

Many people, company and TV broad cast in Japan, think interesting lie fro this day. It is difficult to judge whether it is true or lie on April Fool. I some times realize April Fool after it has passed.

  2. April Fool's Day, also referred to as All Fools' Day, occurs on the first day of April. It is not a holiday in the sense that the day is not used for celebration or observation. April Fool's Day is more of a notable day, recognized around the world, to invoke hoaxes, pranks or practical jokes.

Tradition provides that pranks be performed before noontime and that any prank performed thereafter, results in bad luck for its perpetrator. No one really knows whether the noontime restriction was contrived to restrict the number of pranks or as mere superstition. Some other superstitions surrounding the day include:

Anyone not tolerant or receptive of a prank is subject to bad luck.
Being fooled by a pretty girl leads to marriage, or at a minimum, friendship with her.
An April Fool's Day marriage indicates that the wife will rule the husband.
Children born on April Fool's Day will experience good luck in all matters except gambling.
As the name implies, the day is used to embarrass or make fools of the gullible.

  3. Unlike most of the other nonfoolish holidays, the history of April Fool's Day, sometimes called All Fool's Day, is not totally clear. It is not like Halloween, where despite an interesting history, most people just put on Halloween costumes, get candy, and leave it at that. Some believe it sort of evolved simultaneously in several cultures at the same time, from celebrations involving the first day of spring. In Taiwan, everyone won't believe any information from friends or the Internet. It seems this holiday is not welcome for every people; however, there's still a lot of people who enjoy it.

  4. April Fool's Day is widely recognized and celebrated as a day when many people play all kinds of jokes and foolishness. Traditionally, in some countries such as Canada, the UK, and South Africa, the jokes only last until noon. But, in some countries such as Korea, Japan, France, and the US., the jokes last all day.
The origin of April Fool's Day include Roman festival of Hilaria, held March 25, and the Medieval Festival of Fools, held December 28.
In the 16th century, France celebrated the New Year, and they partied on April 1st. In 1562, Pope Gregory changed the calendar, and the New Year began on January 1st. But, lots of people didn't know about the new calendar or they ignored the new calendar, and they kept celebrating on April 1st. Everyone called to April Fools and played tricks.
When I was a student, we would like to tell "Today's Class is Cancelled."

  5. According to "Wikipedia",April Fools' Day is celebrated in different countries on April 1 every year. Sometimes referred to as All Fools' Day, April 1 is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated as a day when many people play all kinds of jokes and foolishness. The day is marked by the commission of funny jokes, hoaxes, and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, teachers, neighbors, work associates, etc.
I think this style is different from Japanese style. Certainly there is April Fool's Day in Japan, but it is only a day that people tell lies. And Japanese people don't think that it is an important day. I prefer American style to Japanese style.

  6. April Food's day is special day for everybody. On the day, people can tell a lie, and nobody knows how the April Fool's day began. BBC usually broadcast a fake news on that day. Japanese TV show had a feature segment of April Fool's day, and I watched the fake news, which was flying penguin, but I did not believe that. Now Ill tell you my story with April Fool's day. When I was 4th grade, I was belong my local softball team, and my best friend was also belong other local team. I really liked him very much. One day, he called and told me that he was going to join my softball team. I was really excited, because he can play softball very well. Then I asked him "When!?" and he said "It is April Fool's day today!" I was really disappointed and I was so embarrassed. But still he is my best friend, Although he lives far away from my place in Japan, we see each other around every end of year or beginning of the year. Well this is only story which I remember about April Fool's day. I don't know the April Fool's day is necessary or not.

  7. April first, is the day that you fool your friends, or sometimes people you don't know. This day has many theories in which it came from. Despite to other holidays, this day, April Fool's Day, is not a holiday with customs wearing, it is a holiday with fake talking holiday, in another words, ling. For me, I never cared so much about this day. Simply because I'm trying to be an honest person, even though if some people say that it is not a lie, it s a joke, but I don't see much deferent between a lie and a joke.
