My best experiences: When I came to here first day I couldn't speak English nothing to say, but now my English improved. Maybe because I found a job when I came to here and have a lot of American friends from there, or maybe because I hang out with Americans every weekend. Also, I think my English improved because I studied English at ELI.
ReplyDeleteMy bad experiences: When I couldn't speak English in the beginning I had to many troubles. I couldn't talk to people. I lost one time in the airport, and I couldn't get help because I couldn't speak English. Also, I couldn't find a job in the beginning because of my English I was waiting for my friends to help that's why I tool long time of finally find a job. These two experiences are the most important experiences happend to me when I came to here until now.
I cannot imagine that you were not able to speak English. Do you think should i get a job?
DeleteSure. when I work sometimes I improve my English better than here in the institute. Working is very helpful for improving english plus you get money plus your day will be busy. Before I worked My day was always boring nothing to do, but after I worked every day I'm busy which means no mo boring days.
DeleteI lost my laptop in the airport of Seattle. It was such a horrible experience. But it was good for my English to look for it.
Deleteit has been 2 months past since i came to UM. I tried many things, so far. There are a lot of good experience, so today I am going to write about shooting. The second day I came to UM, my friends from my dorm asked me to go to shooting at mountain. Actually, it was not my first time to shoot a gun because i have tried to shoot small gun in Korea, and it was inside of building. But this time gun was huge, much bigger than one i have tried. I tried to shoot a orange collared disk, and I shot. I was surprised the reaction of the gun, and my shoulder was really sore. Although I got sore on my arm and shoulder, I had a good time, and it was my first time to shoot a gun outside. I though it is really easy to kill people with a gun, i do not want to get shot by anybody. Well, my worst experience is nothing. I feel everything is good.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you don't have any bad experience. I'm happy that you have a good time here in Missoula. I wish I was with you when you went shooting. It sounds good. I shoot just one time with my dad when I was home, but he helped me because I was maybe 15. Now I want to shoot again, but this time no one will help me.
DeleteI heard hunting is favorite sports in Missoula, Montana. You try to hunt, next time!

DeleteMy best experience after I came here, The University of Montana as an international student is that many encounter with people. I've met and made friends since I came here through some events, introduction of my friend, my classes and so on. For example, when I studied at library, an American man who sat in front of me talked to me with seeing my text book of TOEFL. As he used to teach English in Japan, he know TOEFL and little bit Japanese and realized I am a Japanese. When I met him, It'd been only 2 weeks since I came here, so I did't have many American friends and felt so nervous about many things. We talked with him for a while and my anxiety disappeared a little.
ReplyDeleteI believe that you will take more funny day from now on.
Deletei liked ur feelings
DeleteMy best experience as an international student is that I can learn about the cultures of many countries as well as English. In class, we presented about the cultures of own's country, and I first learned many new cultures. These will helpful to enlarge my future work and life.
ReplyDeleteAnd, another experiences are field trips. There are many beautiful places in Missoula. I like Clark Fork River and Missoula's big sky. After going to field trip, I could be known another many beautiful places.
Fortunately, there is no bad experience, so far.
I also learn new culture as an international student, and I found many things! I could not know without experience as study abroad.
DeleteIt's good to hear from you that you don't have any bad experience. I also learn about American, Japanese, Taiwanese, and koreans cultures which means good experience for me as an international student.
Deletelearning many culture is one of good experience for me, too! I think it can also make us realize our own culture.
DeleteMy best experience is the trip with international students. About 7 month ago, we went to YELLOW STONE by the car. We enjoyed driving over listening and singing music and chatting. This time was very precious time for me to talk with friends and practice speaking of English. In YELLOW STONE NATIONAL PARK, we could see many wild animals and take the picture. The weather was pretty good, so our feeling was getting excited. If you did not go there, I recommend to go :D!!
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to go to there. I tried to go to there many times, but I couldn't. Hopefully I will go to there soon I'm planning to go to there before I leave Missoula this summer.
DeleteI've really wanted to go to YELLOW STONE before I came here. It looks like wonderful place! So, I hope I'l have a chance to go there during I stay here!
DeleteYou have such a nice experience! I wish I can go to Yellow Stone someday.
DeleteI became an international student a month ago so my history as it is short. But my best experience I think is making friends with students from various countries. Of course I got new friends from my country but I was pleased that I could communicate with people from different countries. It was my purpose of studying in the US. Now I have nice friends and classmates and got used to American life. Hopefully I will continue this enjoyable life till the end.
ReplyDeleteYour school life in UM looks very exciting! Enjoy next semester, too!
DeleteHopefully every year will be enjoyable year for you. my advice is to make a lot of American friends that's how you can improve your English.

ReplyDeleteMy Best experience after I came here is to meet American friend at smoking area. He is interested in Japan and very friendly, so he take me to many place that I never experienced in Japan. For example bar or bar or bar. And also he teaches me a lot of slung that textbook does not mention it. It is funny. He will go to Japan as a teacher in september, but I want to keep hanging out in Japan.

Deletethis is one of the best experiment in my life for many reasons those reasons helped me involve my personalty helped me to be independent in some things like doing laundry ; the first reason is living alone , for example when you live alone you have to do every thing like cooking, cleaning ex. the second reason is that i have to solve my own problems and some times i wont have any one to help me or to ask , an example of that is my first week in the states i was living i a bad place and i wanted to move to Pantzer Hall but I didnt know how to do that and i had some difficulties but i learned from that problem alot of things . being an international student in the U.S helped me involve my personalty and my life and i wish it will continue .
ReplyDeleteWhen I first came to U.S, Los Angles was the first city that I had been. I was picked up by my friend’s acquaintance from airport. And It was so difficult to communicate with that American because I was responding for everything she asked with “yes” or “no” she was having me really hard times while speaking. The time I passed at LA was nightmare and I had my first and worst experience at LA. When we come to the best experience. It happened while I was flying from Montana to Mexico. I was taken by the security of airport for some reasons. After I left the security room or something, I had a smile on my face because I told situation and gave answers for the questions that I’m asked without needing a help of someone. Also being an international student reduced the number of questions they asked me. This was the best experience I had as an international student.
