Most Important Thing About Writing
Please write about the most important thing you learned about writing. Describe the important thing and explain why it is so important for you. After you have given your response, please reply to two classmates.
The most important thing that I learned in this class since I came this semester is how to write an essay, and how to organize it at depends of what I'm going to write. For example, If I want to write an argument essay there is a way to write it, and If I want to write controversy essay, there is a way to write it. Before I though all of the essays are same, there is no different between any essay, but there is actually more than one different. Also, I thought before this class the paragraph is harder than the essay, but after this class I figure that out the essay is easier than the paragraph. In the essay I can focus in many points and many small paragraphs, but in the paragraph there is just one thing you will focus about, and there is one paragraph, so I think it's harder. Also, the teacher was very helpful to teach us the essays in many easy ways.
Though there are a lot of things when you write an essay,the most important thing is that to have and express your opinion clearly with correct grammer. Because even if you had a good skills of writing essay, you could not write write great essay without your definite opinions. So, in my opinion, the most important process is brain storming.
The most important things that I learned here is the grammar. Before I come here, I don't know how to use compound sentence. I only remember my teacher said "you can only one subject in one sentence.", so I separated every clause. But now, I know now to use the compound sentence and complicated sentence. And also, I found me essay has improved gradually. Before I come here, it usually took me one night to write a five-hundred-words essay, but now, I can finish it in two hours. It improves a lot. I think my experience will help me a lot in the future.
I think coherence is the most important thing to write an essay. Of course there are a lot of important things. But an essay without coherence is really bad. Author sometimes cannot tell reader what they want to tell. Actually it is nonsense, because author writes essays anyone to read.
Coherence is very important thing, but at the same time it is really difficult thing. The best way to improve this skill is that to read many good essay and to practice whiting essay many times.
I think the most important thing about writing is vocabulary and grammer. Different from speaking and writing, we have to write complete sentence without any grammatical and spelling mistake in the field of writing. So we need to have large vocabulary and solid ability of grammer. For example, we have to use academic vocabulary with no grammatical mistake when we write academic essays. If we don't have the good knowledge of vocabulary and grammer, we can't construct sentences.
I have learned many things about writing in this class. We have to write various kinds of essay with the many objects. First, we have to assert thesis statement effectively in the introduction paragraph. Of course, the hook attract the reader is important. In these circumstances, we have to search many information to support our thesis statement with background of topic. We have to organize and emphasize our opinion based upon our insistence and collected information to pursuade the reader or give information to the reader. Also, using the various vocabulary is useful for good essay. Finally, we have to restate the thesis statement in conclusion body.
I learned how to write many kinds of essay. These are different from free-writing, so we have to organize the essay. Basically, it start from introduction and come some support and finally summary and conclude the theme. Also, I learned the correct way to use conjunction and comma. I treated them with neglect, so I sometime confused. But before learning essay, we learned many kinds of sentences like compound/complex sentence. This is small thing, but it is important to write more academic and accurate.
