Thesis and Support
Please post your thesis statement and then look for two sources of support on the Internet. When you find the support, post the link and a good quote for each. After that, please write about how you'll use the support. Will you use the support to fight against the opposition or to support your side?

My theses is "Compulsory education is a controversial issue in Taiwan, and many people support it for reducing the stress of parents and students, however, I think we should not apply the compulsory education in high schools, because students' thinking and knowledge of compulsory education is not matured enough." Here are two reason that people don't support the compulsory education, one is people' s knowledge about compulsory education is not matured enough, another one is the system of compulsory education is not suit for Taiwanese people's thinking. I will use these two concept to support my essay.
ReplyDeleteWell, I disagree with you for a simple reason. If they high school students were smart enough to continue their education to their lever, that's mean -In my opinion of course- they are mature enough to apply for a compulsory education in high school. Even though if that would make the students indignation. Additional thought of mine, compulsory education in high schools is very important for the country before the people. It allows them to have an educated generation that could make the country more intelligent.
DeleteCompulsory education is important because it contribute to grow up the level of education in Taiwan, so they should apply the compulsory education in high school. And system should adjust to what people want in Taiwan.
DeleteIn Turkey, women should be allowed to wear headscarf while getting into the universities or somewhere which is related to the government. Because, they are on the age of making their own decisions, and this ban is against to human rights also headscarf is a requirement of Islam.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11880622
http://www.unhcr.org/refworld/country,,IRBC,,TUR,,4885a91a8,0.html
I think women should not use headscarf because every woman under the headscarf looks similar. If you use it in public places, it may bring some mistakes. For example, the nurse and doctor may confuse you and other sick people in hospital, and give you the wrong medicine. It will bring a big problem.
DeleteThesis statement: Women in Saudi Arabia should be allowed to drive because of many reasons. One they them, they have emergency situation like sick people who need to go to the hospital , the other reason is when they want to go shopping or visiting their friends, they don't have to cancel because their men are busy.
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women's_rights_in_Saudi_Arabia
http://articles.cnn.com/2012-02-05/middleeast/world_meast_saudi-arabia-women-drivers_1_male-guardian-youtube-video-license?_s=PM:MIDDLEEAST
These two links show that why Saudi arabia government doesn't want from the women to drive. Also, there are one or two small stories that women want to drive. I will use these link to support my essay for why government doesn't want from women to drive. Also, to support my opinion of the story that in the link.
Although some of points that you mentioned look like true, there are many opportunities if a woman wants to go somewhere, ambulances and public transportation are just two of them.
DeleteI woud like to write about "YUTORI education"which is pressure-free education for young children.
ReplyDeleteThere is controversy about education for student as government thought that students need more free time to do what they are interested in, except study at school. Although they once tried to introduce this policy, consequently, some people thought academic students were going down because of this policy, so that the government have once quitted this policy. In my opinion, this policy does not the biggest cause of decline in the academic skills of Japanese students. So, the Japanese government should introduce "YUTORI education" again. Because it will enable students to be useful person in the future. Moreover, too much forced study puts students under stress and it can cause crimes by young people.

These article write about why government came up with this policy and, why this policy failed. On basis of these supports, I will write aout necessity of "YUTORI education" for students.
Government should just let the students fouces in their school no fun no wasting time. so, the economic of japan will be up very fast. Also, if the students have to many things that they are interested in, they will always want to have fun and forget about school. so, the best thing to do is just focusing in school and study hard.
DeleteJapan has big argument about nuclear power plants. People who support rebuild and continue to use nuclear power plant say that it really works and beneficial. However the others who against nuclear power plant say that it is too dangerous, so we should not rely on it. Which way Japan should go? Both have advantages and disadvantages. Japan should not stop using of nuclear power plants, because people there is lots of advantages, and if we stop using of it it brings us some disadvantages.

DeleteEven if now we rely on nuclear power, it is more important that ensure safety life for people. As in the past, people could live without nuclear power, it is not imposible. So Japan should quit using nuclear power.
DeleteIn my modest opinion, I think that as long as the women want to drive, they has the absolute right to drive a car -as long as they are safe and protected- for two simple reason, they can go where ever they want and whenever they want, and to save money instead of the personal drivers.
ReplyDeletesources(IN ARABIC):
1)http://www.alriyadh.com/2010/04/14/article516066.html (NEWS PAPER) quote,"Islam didn't forbid any of the women rights, and driving a car is one of them"
2)http://www.okaz.com.sa/new/issues/20110726/Con20110726436254.htm (NEWS REPORT) quote,"many women needs to drive the car for themselves because they may NOT find a person who could help them to do their important stuff at emergency moments"
Using the sources: I'm going to use the sources above-Newspaper reports- as a support for my opinion and essay. Both of the news paper above are supporting my opinion of allowing the women driving for many main advantages and they both mentioned how Women Driving could be a big 'jump' for Saudi Arabia Society in general, and for women specifically.
I totally disagree with you, women cannot drive well. There is big possibility to get included in accident. Instead of banning driving car, government should pay for women when they spend money for personal driver.
DeleteMy thesis statement
ReplyDeleteIn Korea, supermarket drug sales should be permitted because they are useful for emergency situations and to reduce drug cost.
Cf., OTC (Over-the-Counter) Drugs
* Supporting Group: Citizens
1) evoice.ewha.ac.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=3014
Korea should allow OTC drugs sales. The fact that we could buy medicine at supermarkets or convenience stores when we wasn’t able to go to the hospital was a big advantage.
More kinds of OTC drugs should be added to the list which could be on sale at convenience stores since there are many types of drug that people could use I need.
2)http://www.arirang.co.kr/News/News_View.asp?nseq=117168&code=Ne2&category=2
Should OTC drugs be sold at superarkets?
What do we do after 9 or 10 o’clock at night when all the pharmacies are closed?
It would be convenient if I can get pills at a 24-hour convenience store.
Sales of drugs at supermarkets will really come in handy in emergency situations, especially if you have a baby at home.
Easier access to medicine, preventing overpricing by pharmacies and not having to stock pile unnecessary OTC drugs at home were among the most frequently picked reasons.
• Opposition Group: Korean Pharmaceutical Association
http://www.arirang.co.kr/News/News_View.asp?nseq=117168&code=Ne2&category=2
Currently, pharmacists take full responsibility when accidents occur from medication errors. But if OTC drugs are sold by non-professionals, who is to blame?
This is not about profits. This is about the safety of people. We need to think carefully about whether putting convenience before safety is the right thing to do for the sake of citizens.
(rebut) Selling certain types of OTC drugs outside pharmacies will not be a direct cause of drug abuse or misuse, since most people are already familiar with the effects of widely consumed non-prescription drugs.
I will use these supporting reasons, and rebut against the opposition reason.
The problem of the ninth article of the japanese Construction and the Japanese Self-Defense Forces has been controversy for long time in Japan. The ninth article of the Japanese Construction says that we Japanese never have war and army as means to solve international trouble. However, there is the Japanese Self-Defense Forces in Japan. Some people say it is unconstitutional because as the article says, Japanese must not have any army for for any reason. on the other hand, the other people say it is constitutional because the purpose of the army is not to invade other countries but to defend Japan against enemies. I think Japan should maintain the Self-Defense Forces.
ReplyDeleteThese are supports.

http://web.sapporo-u.ac.jp/~youth/30english/sawano30e.html
Because my theme is complicated and the controversy is deeply rooted in Japanese history, it is slightly difficult to assert my opinion. But I think I will use these sources to support my opinion.
Japan Self-Defense Forces should be abolished because other nations are threatened with Japanese military although it is not to invade other countries.
DeleteIn Japan, smoking should be banned because smoking is bad for own health and it also influence economically. Everyone know that smoking is bad for health, but smokers do not stop to smoke. There are some reason as recreation and tool of communication. However this sacrifice caused by smoking is too much especially risks for health. It influence other who do not smoke; it called "second-hand-smoke". The side-stream smoke that comes off tobacco between puffs carries a higher risk than directly inhaled smoke. In terms of economic, tobacco industry seems to contribute to Japan, but disadvantage is much bigger from wide point of view.
ReplyDeletehttp://www5f.biglobe.ne.jp/~mixcandy/column002.html
I smoke. So If smoking is banned, I will be mad. Surely smoking is not good for health but I think it is one of the best communication tools in the world. In my case, I made many friends while I was smoking. Then the problem of the second-hand-smoke will be solved if smokers smoke at smoking lounge.
